LICS was a hub of artistic energy at the recent Arts Teachers Conference under the ISAZ (International Schools Association of Zambia). Under the compelling theme of “Art and Social Change – Using Art to Inspire Change,” the event brought together creative educators for a day of learning, collaboration, and inspiration.
The conference offered a diverse range of engaging workshops that explored the evolving landscape of art education. Attendees delved into cutting-edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality in art, gaining insights into how these tools can be integrated into the curriculum. Meanwhile, other sessions focused on the crucial topic of sustainability, where teachers learned innovative ways to examine sustainable development by creating recycled art.
We extend a special thank you to all the attendees and to Ms. Ginwalla for making the conference a resounding success. The focus on “Art and Social Change” underscores the vital role that artistic expression can play in fostering awareness, promoting dialogue, and ultimately driving positive change within communities.
