LICS is currently seeking a dynamic, innovative, inspirational, and suitably qualified individual to join the team as a Primary School, Assistant Teacher from 1st August 2025.

2. Qualifications

  • Diploma in Education (Bachelor’s degree or PGCE preferred).
  • Experience in teaching across the Primary range; Cambridge Primary Curriculum experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in English (reading/writing) and IT tools like Microsoft Office.
  • Commitment to promoting global citizenship in the classroom.
  • Open to newly qualified teachers.

3. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Academic Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with class teachers in planning and preparation.
  • Actively teach individuals, groups, or entire classes.
  • Set up classrooms, implement plans, and use strategies to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Support all learners and foster independent working skills.
  • Carry out administrative tasks (displays, photocopying, etc.) and engage in academic progress discussions.
  • Use diverse tools (practical, visual, and interactive) to enhance understanding and learning.
  • Support during specialist lessons (Library, Music, Art, PE, ICT).
    • Pastoral Care
  • Guide learners between lessons and enforce behavior policies.
  • Carry out assigned duties and address emotional/social concerns promptly.
  • Adhere to the Child Protection Policy and report safeguarding concerns.
  • Support initiatives like House points, student council, and suggestion boxes.
  • Take charge of the class and implement rewards/sanctions when necessary.
